These days, the Indian WhatsApp app, Arattai, is being discussed a lot. It's being reported that the company doesn't provide end-to-end encryption for its text messages. Because of this, many tech experts don't consider this app safe to use at the moment. So, let's find out what end-to-end encryption is.

End-to-end encryption keeps chats between two users encrypted from one device to another so that third parties can't read them. Encrypted messages are also protected from hacking on the company's servers. They can only be decrypted for special security reasons. If an app doesn't have end-to-end encryption, messages may appear decrypted on the server.

This increases the risk of data leaks. When chats aren't encrypted, messages are decrypted during server indexing, making their content accessible on the server. Speaking of Arattai, end-to-end encryption is available for voice and video calls, but this feature is not yet fully implemented for text chats.
