"Exactly what Congress party is saying": Pawan Khera on BJP's two EPIC claims, demands CCTV footage to investigate

New Delhi [India], September 2 (ANI): Responding to BJP's Amit Malviya claims that he holds two active EPIC numbers, Congress leader Pawan Khera on Tuesday said that this is exactly the issue that his party is highlighting and raising questions on the working of the Election Commission.
Speaking to ANI, Khera demanded CCTV footage to investigate who is being made to cast a vote from the New Delhi constituency in his name. He asked ECI why his name is still on the list from the New Delhi constituency, even though he had followed all the procedures to delete it.
Claiming that there are hundreds and thousands of such errors in every constituency of India, the Congress leader alleged that ECI is legitimising such errors through Special Intensive Revisions (SIR).
Khera said, "This is exactly what the Congress party is saying. This is the question that we are raising regarding the working of the Election Commission...This list is available with the BJP leaders as well as EC. Congress keeps asking for the list but never gets it...I would like to know from the Election Commission that who is being made to cast vote from New Delhi constituency in my name. I want the CCTV footage."

"I shifted from there in 2016. I followed the procedure to get my name deleted from there. But why is my name still there? This is what Rahul Gandhi has been challenging since 7th August till date...There are hundreds and thousands of such names in every constituency of India. These are being misused...Under SIR, they are legitimising such errors. So, we are objecting to the SIR as it is taking place right now..." he added.
Earlier today, BJP leader Amit Malviya levelled allegations against Congress leader Pawan Khera, accusing him of possessing two active voter identity cards registered in separate constituencies of the national capital Delhi.
The BJP leader further levelled allegations against Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi, accusing her of "enlisting herself in India's voter list even before becoming an Indian citizen."
In a social media post on X, Maviya wrote, "Rahul Gandhi screamed "Vote Chori" from the rooftops. But just like he forgot to mention that his mother, Sonia Gandhi, enlisted herself in India's voter list even before becoming an Indian citizen, it has now emerged that Pawan Khera, Congress spokesperson--who never misses a chance to flaunt his proximity to the Gandhis--holds two active EPIC numbers (in Jangpura and New Delhi Assembly Constituencies, falling under East Delhi and New Delhi Lok Sabha seats respectively).
Sharing details, Malviya listed the two entries, "Here are the details: EPIC - 1 •Name: Pawan Khera •Father's Name: H. L. Malviya further accused Khera of holding "malicious press conferences" in Bihar to "mislead voters, create dissonance, and undermine India's robust electoral process."
The social media post reads, "It is now for the Election Commission to investigate how Pawan Khera holds two active EPIC numbers, and whether he voted multiple times--a clear violation of electoral laws. As if the criminality of holding multiple votes isn't enough, Pawan Khera is holding malicious press conferences in Bihar to mislead voters, create dissonance, and undermine India's robust electoral process."
