India slams Bangladesh over Hindu leader's killing, calls it part of “systematic persecution” pattern

India on Saturday strongly condemned the abduction and brutal killing of Bhabesh Chandra Roy, a Hindu minority leader in Bangladesh.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the incident is part of a "pattern of systematic persecution" of Hindu minorities under the current interim government in Bangladesh.

He also said that those responsible for earlier attacks are still roaming free, and urged the government to stop making excuses and ensure the safety of all minorities, including Hindus.

“This killing is deeply distressing,” Jaiswal wrote on X, calling on Bangladesh to live up to its responsibility and take action.

India has raised similar concerns in the past over rising attacks on minorities in the neighbouring country.
