According to the astrologer, consumption of oily, heavy, and dairy products is considered inauspicious during the eclipse period. Milk, curd, cheese, non-vegetarian food, and cooked vegetables should not be eaten during the eclipse, because doing so can increase stomach-related diseases. He said that there is a tradition of adding basil leaves to the food made before the eclipse, because basil is considered sacred and medicinal. Tulsi leaves should be put in the food made during the eclipse and kept covered.

Know what not to do during an eclipse.
The astrologer told that the effect of negative energy in the environment increases during the eclipse. Taking a bath and wearing new clothes after the eclipse is over is a process of purification. Food should be eaten only after this. Pandit Shatrughan Jha says that chanting the Mahamrityunjaya mantra and Gayatri mantra during the eclipse period brings mental peace and health benefits. He said that we should avoid all these things during the eclipse, otherwise we may have to face adverse consequences.
