Tips To Prevent Monkeypox: The discovery of a case of monkeypox in Maharashtra has caused a stir. A man came to the government hospital in Dhule district for treatment. When tested, he was found to be infected. He was immediately shifted to an isolation ward, and his contacts are being tested. According to officials, the man had been living in Dubai for the past four years and returned on October 2nd. After feeling unwell, he went to the government hospital in Dhule, where tests revealed he was infected. This is the first case of monkeypox in Maharashtra, but a total of 35 cases have been reported in India so far.

What is monkeypox and how does it spread?
Dr. Anil Bansal, former president and senior physician of the Delhi Medical Association, explained that monkeypox is a viral infection caused by the monkeypox virus. It is a contagious disease that can affect both humans and animals. Its symptoms are similar to smallpox, but its severity is less. The virus can spread from one infected person to another through close contact. Contact with the skin of a person infected with monkeypox can spread the infection. Sharing clothes or bedding with an infected person can also spread the infection. Contact with infected animals also spreads the virus.
What are the symptoms of monkeypox?
The doctor explained that when infected with monkeypox, people experience symptoms such as headache, fever, muscle pain, fatigue, weakness, and swollen lymph nodes. It causes rashes or blisters on the body, which later develop into blisters. Monkeypox is a rapidly spreading virus and has wreaked havoc in many countries. The situation is currently under control in India, but precautions should be taken to prevent it. Even if infected, treatment is based on the symptoms. If anyone experiences these symptoms, they should consult a doctor as soon as possible and get tested.

What to do to prevent monkeypox?
Dr. Bansal explained that to prevent monkeypox, avoid crowded places. Avoid close contact with people arriving from abroad. Maintain distance from infected individuals. Pay special attention to hygiene and wash your hands frequently. Do not share the clothes, towels, or bedding of an infected individual. If you develop a fever or other symptoms, consult a doctor immediately. If you experience any symptoms after traveling abroad, isolate yourself and get tested. Additionally, you can also get vaccinated against monkeypox on the advice of your doctor.
