Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh): A 21-year-old married woman was allegedly raped by her husband’s friend in Gwalior on Wednesday.
The shocking incident took place when her husband was away on duty, and the accused suddenly came to the house while she was alone at home.
The woman told police that the man, identified as Ranjit Prajapati, a resident of Gohad in Bhind, entered the house saying he just came to visit. Since the woman already knew him as her husband’s friend, she allowed him inside.
While they were talking, her 5-month-old baby started crying, so she went to the room to calm her down. When she came back, Ranjit forced her into another room. When she tried to resist, he threatened to kill her baby.
Out of fear, the woman stopped resisting, and Ranjit raped her before leaving the house.
The woman later told everything to her husband when he returned home in the evening. The couple then went to the Janakganj Police Station and filed a complaint.
The police quickly registered a case and arrested the accused before he could escape. The incident happened in the Tighra Road area under Janakganj police station.
ASP Niranjan Sharma confirmed that the woman was raped by her husband’s friend.
He said that the case has been filed and the accused is now in police custody.
