Nagpur: A shocking incident has come to light from Maharashtra's Nagpur, where the police have arrested a 'looteri dulhan' (con bride) who allegedly married eight men and extorted a whopping amount of money from them, according to NDTV.
The accused has been identified as 35-year-old Sameera Fatima, was arrested on July 29 while allegedly attempting to con her next target.
Fatima is said to be a teacher by profession. She married eight men over the past 15 years. She targeted wealthy, married Muslim men and reached out to them through matrimonial websites and social media platforms. She introduced herself as a widow with a child.
Soon after luring the men into marriage, she would reportedly start mentally harassing the husbands, secretly recording conversations, coercing them to speak ill about others, and later using edited voice clips to create misunderstandings. She then filed complaints of adultery and harassment against them and then offered to retract the cases in exchange for money.
Police Action
A case has been filed and an investigation is underway. According to police, Fatima was working with a gang to extort money from her different husbands.
One of the victims has claimed that she extorted Rs 50 lakhs from one victim and Rs 15 lakhs from another, through both cash and bank transfers. One of her husband was a senior officers of the Reserve Bank.
One of her husband, who had married her in 2022, filed an FIR against her in 2024 for taking a Rs10 lakh cheque from him and filing false complaints.
Fatima, who had been absconding for months, was finally nabbed while meeting her latest target at the famous Dolly Ki Tapri in Civil Lines.

According to a Times Of India report, to evade arrest, she had earlier taken refuge at a madarsa in Mominpura, allegedly with help from a maulana identified as Imran. While the police had tracked her, she was seven months pregnant and got admitted to Mayo Hospital. Fatima then transferred herself to a private hospital, from where she managed to escape.
