Mumbai: Maharashtra Fisheries and Coastal Road Development Minister Nitesh Rane has instructed that the Revas-Reddi Coastal Highway Project be executed without causing any damage to the sacred Shri Kshetra Kunkeshwar Temple, located in Devgad Taluka of Sindhudurg district.
Cultural Significance of Kunkeshwar Temple Highlighted
Shri Kshetra Kunkeshwar, popularly known as the "Kashi of South Konkan," is a significant religious site. Under the Revas-Reddi Coastal Highway project, the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has undertaken the construction of a platform (chowthara) near the temple premises as part of road rehabilitation and upgradation works.

High-Level Review Meeting Held In Mumbai
To review the progress and impact of this development, a high-level meeting was held today at the MITRA (Maharashtra Institution for Transformation) office at Nirmal Bhavan in Mumbai, under the chairmanship of Minister Nitesh Rane.
Strict Instructions Issued To Protect Religious Structure
During the meeting, Minister Rane was briefed in detail about the project. Emphasizing the religious and cultural importance of the temple, he stated, “Shri Kshetra Kunkeshwar is a revered site for the people of Konkan. The project must be carried out with utmost care to ensure the temple is not harmed in any way.”
