According to information, the incident took place late at night when Arshad, the muslim man, was passing by the wedding procession on his motorcycle.
A wedding guest, part of the procession, hit Arshad on the head with a beer bottle, which led to a major fight between the two groups. The situation escalated quickly, and both sides attacked each other. Arshad was badly injured in the attack.
Afterward, members of the Muslim community began throwing stones at the wedding procession, injuring six guests.
The wedding was for Saurabh Sharma, also known as "Panda," a history-sheeter who had been granted special permission to stay in Guna for three days to attend his wedding. However, after the attack, his friends, who were drunk, created chaos, which led to the violence. Arshad was seriously injured and was referred to Bhopal for medical treatment.
When the police arrived at the scene, they were also mistreated. The situation became more chaotic when wedding guests started throwing chairs at the police, and a video of the incident went viral.
Police Superintendent Ankit Soni confirmed that Saurabh Sharma is a history-sheeter and was given permission for the wedding. He added that many of the wedding guests were known offenders who made the situation worse.
So far, 17 people have been arrested for their involvement in the violence. The police continue to investigate the case.
