Tata Sons’ ecommerce arm Tata Digital is set to onboard Sajith Sivanandan as its new chief executive officer.

An employee with Tata Digital, citing an internal mail, confirmed with Inc42 that Sivanandan will take over the top job at the company, effective September 1.
Inc42 has reached out to Tata Digital for comments on the development. The story will be updated based on the response.
As per his LinkedIn profile, Sivanandan recently served as the president of Jio Mobile Digital Services. Previously, he led Disney+ Hotstar as chief executive for more than two years.
Prior to that, he worked with Google for about 15 years as the managing director of multiple tech giants’ departments.
Leadership Overhaul At Tata DigitalSivanandan will succeed Naveen Tahilyani, who stepped down from his role in June. Tahilyani is currently working with UK-based Prudential Plc as regional CEO for India, Africa and Southeast Asia.
Tahilyani stepped down from his role after 17 months with the Tata Sons-owned company.
When Tahilyani took over as the chief executive of the Tata Group’s digital arm in February last year, the company subsequently reshuffled the senior leadership team of its super app Tata Neu. Among the key appointments, Hardeep Singh Guru was named CFO while Gaurav Motani stepped in as chief product officer.
Set up in March 2019, Tata Digital is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons, which focuses on digital-first products and services. It has brands like BigBasket, Croma, Tata Neu, Tata Cliq, 1mg and Tata Payments, among others, under its umbrella.
On the financial front, Tata Digital’s consolidated operating revenue declined 13.8% to INR 32,188 Cr in FY25 from INR 37,355 Cr in the previous year. Net loss also declined about 31% to INR 828 Cr from INR 1,201 Cr in FY24.
