BBC Radio 1 star Roisin Hastie has given birth to her second child and has revealed her newborn's stunning name. The radio star took to to share the first photo of her second child after sharing the news with her fans and Radio 1 listeners.
Roisin and her husband, music producer Jimmy Blake, shared the joyous news of their baby's arrival in an emotional and exuberant Instagram announcement.
Posting on behalf of both parents, Jimmy poured his heart out in a raw, love-filled tribute to his wife and their newborn: "LIIIIIIIIFE! Too many feelings to handle, but our little is so, so full. Welcome along, Arlo. Rosie, I will never be able to get over what you just did. Bloody hell. ARLO!!! X"
Overflowing with emotion, his words captured the awe and disbelief of witnessing birth and meeting their child for the first time.
The post quickly became a magnet for love and well wishes from friends, fans, and colleagues alike. Radio’s Bettwyn Clover wrote: “Congratulations you wonderful people!!!! Rosie you’re an absolute superhero. Welcome to the world Arlo.”
Radio star Charlie Hedges and countless others also chimed in with messages of celebration for the couple’s new chapter.
The radio presenter works alongside DJ and this morning, he told listeners about the adorable news of Arlo's arrival as he shared details of the birth.
Greg told listeners: "Can I talk about my ex Roisin Hastie. We’ve got some breaking news, we’ve got breaking news. I’ve just heard from her wonderful husband Jimmy Blake that Roisin has given birth to her wonderful little baby boy Arlo.
"Lovely Arlo finally arrived at 4.55 this morning. Lovely Rosie who is still going to be doing the breakfast news when she’s back off maternity leave.
"A 37 hour labour. 37 hours! I want to big up the midwives, Eve and Gemma who were apparently there the whole way through. And I’m going to make Arlo star listener."
Back in 2022, Roisin announced that she was expecting her first child on the airwaves with former co-presenter Greg. At the time, she took to to give fans a glimpse of her bump, after breaking the news on the airwaves first.
"So special getting to share the best news ever on air today," the journalist captioned the sweet shot. "Me and @jimmyjimmyblake are so overwhelmed by all the lovely messages, thank you little pumpkin due end of October."
The pregnant star first shared the happy news with the help of her co-worker Greg. "Finally, we go to Roisin who is from The Wirral, and in the studio is sat in front of me," Greg, 36, introduced the mum-to-be this morning.
Roisin went on to tell listeners: "It's probably about time you all knew that I am having a baby."
Greg could be heard cheering in the background before adding: "We realised we hadn't told any of the listeners yet and it was getting stupid. "Actually, Greg you knew before my parents," the newsreader added. "It was just early morning work stuff, I had to tell you I'm pregnant."
