Cadbury has unveiled its new family bag of treats for the festive season, but not all fans are thrilled. This year's Cadbury Family Treatsize Variety Bag contains a dozen small chocolates, including a mix of Crunchies, Freddos, Fudges, Twirls and small bags of Buttons.

However, this selection pack offers fewer treats than last year's version, which boasted 14, despite the overall weight increasing from 207g to 223g. Some favourites from last year's product have vanished, including Curly Wurlies, Flakes and Chomps.

One disgruntled Flake enthusiast posted on the Hotukdeals website: "Cadbury have changed the contents, they have removed the Flakes and replaced with Freddo. It's not good value now."

Another user, Blackrussian, echoed these sentiments: "Cadbury have changed the contents, they have removed the flakes and replaced with freddo it's not good valve now. Like all Cadbury products over inflated. Glasgow added: " Glasgow chimed in with: "No more curly whirly."

Crunchies have made a comeback to the pack after being omitted last year.

Gummby shared: "I was going to post this deal a few days back. Each pack seems to contain: 3x Crunchie, 3x Fudge, 2x Twirl, 2x Buttons, 2x Freddo. I don't eat Crunchies so i consider this bad value for me. The crunchies are 26g each so 37% of the whole pack. Albeit there are only 3 of them. It's actually kinda misleading as the Fudge and Crunchies on packaging are the least featured but most featured in each pack."

Cadbury responded: "We're always listening to our Cadbury fans to In a bid to keep up with changing consumer tastes, Cadbury has revamped its Family Treatsize packs. "Following extensive fan feedback, we've made the decision to update the assortment of individual chocolates included in our Family Treatsize packs," said a spokesperson for the company.

The new selection now includes Cadbury Freddos, Twirl, Fudge and Crunchie bars, as well as treat size Buttons, replacing the previous Chomp, Flake and Curly Wurly bars. Despite the pack containing fewer bars, the overall weight of the product has increased due to the change in assortment.

These new packs have been launched just in time for Christmas and will also come in handy for Halloween trick or treaters. Sainsbury’s has them on a £2 deal with a Nectar card, meaning the product is a rare example of a chocolate product increasing in weight and falling in price, as last year packs cost around £3.

Without a Nectar card, the product is sold for £3.90. Tesco is selling the new bags for £2.50 with a Clubcard. Earlier this year Cadbury fans hit out when Curly Wurly bar multi packs which typically retailing at £1.40 for a pack containing five bars shrunk - with Cadbury reducing the pack size to four bars while maintaining the original price.

This isn't the first time a beloved treat has been downsized in an effort to cut costs; Fudge and Freddos have also seen reductions to four bars per pack, and Dairy Milk Little Bars packs have shrunk from six to four.
