Morgan Gibbs-White has called on his Nottingham Forest teammates to turn their woeful form around under under-fire boss Ange Postecoglou. The East Midlands side have fallen into a slump since Postecoglou’s arrival at the City Ground.
Since controversially replacing Nuno Espirito Santo, he has yet to win in his first six games. That run was extended on Thursday evening as Forest were beaten by Danish side Midtjylland 3-2 in their Europa League opener.
Forest fans loudly booed the side following that defeat, while Postecoglou was the target of ‘sacked in the morning’ chants. Midfielder Gibbs-White has now offered his view and made is clear that it’s down to the players to turn the situation around.
Taking to Instagram, the England international wrote: “Today meant so much to everyone involved in the club and it's down to us as players to put things right. We must all stick together like we have done in the past to get out of this difficult period,” alongside a red heart.
Forest will be aiming to secure their first win under Postecoglou’s watch this weekend as they take on Newcastle United at St James’ Park. The former Tottenham and Celtic boss has claimed that fans are free to express their anger, but has claimed the tide will turn sooner rather than later.

"The fans are disappointed, they're entitled to have an opinion on it and I heard their opinion,” Postecoglou said. “Nothing surprises me anymore in football.
“I guess it's just the climate we're in and it seems that's the way we're going. But look, that's something I can control. My responsibility lies to make sure that we try and get some wins for this football club and progress it.
"I get the mood around the place isn't going to be great, I understand people's kind of attitude at the moment, particularly towards me, but I never worry about that. It's not unfamiliar territory for me.

"I really believe that we're on the right track and when we get through this period of uncertainty we'll be on a good path.
"I still think apart from their attitude towards me that they were behind the team and I think that's the important thing. Of course, I would prefer people are optimistic. If we start winning games of football, the atmosphere will change."
Forest sit 17th in the Premier League table ahead of this weekend’s clash having won just one of their opening six games of the campaign.
