Release date for the next Fortnite update and what you can expect from the incoming 37.30 downtime

Fortnite is gearing up for another update, and despite a delay (from an already early release), there's a significant and powerful surprise in store.

The current season of Fortnite has been brimming with excitement, particularly with the impending climax of its major Power Rangers collaboration. The Dino Megazord is officially en route to the island, bringing with it the opportunity for your entire squad to command its immense power to defeat the bug queen and trample enemies, as well as the chance to unlock it in the Shock 'n Awesome Battle Pass.

The game has done an impressive job of re-engaging players with the Shock 'n Awesome season, not only introducing a range of thrilling new weapons, but also providing players with compelling objectives to complete as they battle against the bug invasion which, surprisingly, isn't as bothersome as players anticipated.

When is the next Fortnite update?

The forthcoming Fortnite update is scheduled to drop on Thursday, September 18 at 1am PDT / 4am EDT / 9am BST. The new date was leaked by

, and the timing is based on the commencement of recent downtimes, such as lastv week's update 37.20 (which also suffered a minor delay) and update 37.10.

As per usual, the game's servers will limit access half an hour before the update begins, allowing players to wrap up any ongoing games.

What's in store for the next Fortnite update?

Given that this update is hot on the heels of the previous one, and the subsequent one isn't due for another three weeks, it's a bit tricky to predict what's coming. However, due to the recent delay impacting in-game content, there are certain features we should have seen by now that will likely be introduced with this update.
