Reality TV star Tom Kilbey was rushed to hospital as he revealed it was the "toughest and scariest" moment ever. The Only Way Is Essex cast member had been taken ill with pneumonia.
He has now revealed how he was left "scared" when arriving at hospital as he received treatment for the lung condition. According to the NHS, pneumonia is inflammation of the lungs, usually caused by an infection.
If taken to hospital, patients are usually given fluids and antibiotics to treat the infection and sometimes oxygen to help breathe. Tom, who is the younger brother ofCara Kilbey, gave an update on his health after receiving a diagnosis.

"Pneumonia really put me through it, the scariest and toughest health moment of my life," he admitted. "The NHS and Charing Cross Hospital looked after me like heroes and I'll forever be grateful.
"Still a bit of recovery to go, but I'm on the way back and thank you to my little girlfriend @ninasofey for taking care of me." Tom did not share how long he has been in hospital for.
Sadly, Tom's family has also suffered health scares over the last 12 months. His sister Cara shared how her son Jagger needed medical treatment after visiting Santa.
In December, she told fans how a festive meet and greet took an unexpected turn for her two-year-old. He suffered a nasty injury that left him with a fractured finger.
Just weeks later, Cara had to take Jagger to hospital again as he was "really unwell". While the TOWIE star's daughter was also taken to A&E following an accident on holiday.
Cara shot to fame when she was introduced to the Essex based reality show in September 2011. Her close friendship to Billi Mucklow was the door that opened to make her name.
She stayed on the show for a couple of years before quitting in 2013 and meeting partner Daniel Harris in 2014. The following year she sadly had a miscarriage when she was five months pregnant. The pair went on to have three children - Penelope, Hunter and Jagger.
Cara announced her third pregnancy in January 2022, eight months after undergoing surgery for a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. She posted a photo of her growing baby bump and captioned it: "6 Months Baby. Baby Harris Due in May."
Just months before, Cara bravely revealed that she hadrequired emergency surgery after suffering a ruptured ectopic pregnancy. The former TOWIE star posted: "I've been quiet on Instagram recently.
"Last month I found out I had an ectopic pregnancy that had ruptured and caused an internal bleed, so was rushed into theatre for an emergency op."
