A major accident has taken place in Udhampur district of Jammu-Kashmir. 3 CRPF jawans died on the spot when a bunker vehicle overturned, while 15 others were injured. Police and administration teams reached the spot as soon as the information was received.
Udhampur CRPF Accident: A tragic accident took place in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday morning, when a bus carrying CRPF jawans fell into a 200 feet deep gorge. Three jawans died on the spot in the accident while 15 were injured. The accident happened with the bus of 187th battalion going from Kandwa to Basantgarh, in which a total of 18 jawans are reported to be travelling. At around 10:30 in the morning, the bus went out of control and fell into a deep gorge, due to which the situation in the entire area has become unbalanced.
As soon as the incident was reported, the local administration, police and rescue team reached the spot and started the relief operation. The seriously injured soldiers were immediately admitted to Basantgarh Hospital. The condition of some is said to be critical. Local people also actively participated in the relief work.
Union minister expressed grief, took information from DCImmediately after the accident, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh tweeted and expressed deep condolences on the incident. He wrote, “I am deeply saddened to hear the news of the martyrdom of some soldiers due to a CRPF bus falling into a ditch in Kandwa-Basantgarh area of Udhampur. I have spoken to DC Saloni Rai, who is present on the spot and is constantly monitoring. All possible help is being provided and rescue work is going on on a war footing."

Additional SP Sandeep Bhat said that the police reached the spot in time and started the rescue operation and all the injured have been sent to the hospital for first aid.
The sacrifice of brave soldiers, the security of the bus under questionNow questions are being raised as to how the bus fell into the ditch. According to preliminary information, the condition of the road was bad or there was a technical fault in the vehicle, but this has not been officially confirmed. The army and the administration have ordered a detailed investigation of the accident.
After confirming the names of the martyred soldiers, they will be given a final farewell with proper military honors. Local people also paid tribute to the soldiers and said that the death of such brave sons is a big loss for the country.
