The BBC has dismissed "simply untrue" speculation that Stephen Fry and David Olusoga clashed on Celebrity Traitors. The television personalities are both taking part in the current run of the BBC game show, and reports suggested they had a disagreement after mutually suspecting one another of being a Traitor.
It was reported that several other celebrities found the exchange "surprising" and that it sparked discussion amongst those behind the scenes at Ardross Castle. However, the BBC has firmly denied any suggestion of conflict between the duo, reports the Daily Record. A spokesperson confirmed: "To claim there was any tension between Stephen Fry and David Olusoga outside of the game is simply untrue."
TV star Stephen and historian David are in fact both Faithfuls on the BBC programme, which sees participants attempting to identify the Traitors before facing elimination or banishment themselves.
The two shared an exchange during Wednesday night's episode (October 22) of the show, with Stephen telling David: "I adore you and I don't want you to go."
The celebrity version of the psychological game show, presented by Claudia Winkleman, launched earlier this month and viewers are already captivated by the unfolding drama.
So far, multiple famous faces have been either banished or murdered by the three Traitors - Alan Carr, Cat Burns and Jonathan Ross.

In a shocking turn of events, singer Paloma Faith was given an early exit when Alan was tasked with 'killing' someone in broad daylight by touching their face after first rubbing a 'deadly' flower. This unexpected elimination left many fans stunned as Alan and Paloma are known to be close friends off-screen.
Olympic diving hero Tom Daley, actress Ruth Codd and Voice of an Angel singer Charlotte Church were also shown the door after catching the attention of the Traitors during their covert turret conversations.
YouTube star Niko Omilana and EastEnders actress Tameka Empson were booted off the BBC game show following intense roundtable debates, while TV host Clare Balding was also expelled from the castle.
Celebrity Traitors airs on BBC One.
