Music artist, YouTuber and boxer KSI has been officially announced as the latest judge on Britain's Got Talent as Bruno Tonioli, 69, confirmed he will not be returning for the upcoming 19th series. The former Strictly Come Dancing judge has been forced to leave the ITV show due to scheduling conflicts with filming the next season of Dancing with the Stars in the US.
Announcing his departure, Bruno said: "After three incredible series, I've sadly had to walk away from a job which has opened my eyes to so much incredible talent and step down as a judge on BGT. And whilst I look forward to filming a new series of Dancing with the Stars in the US, I will miss the chaos and joy that BGT brings, as well as all the wonderful people I've had the privilege of working with. They truly are a brilliant team who make brilliant television, and I know KSI will be a fantastic judge too, as he's already proven this year."
The ITV show paid tribute to Bruno on Instagram, writing: "After three fabulous series, Bruno Tonioli is stepping down as a #BGT Judge due to filming commitments. His time with us has been truly SEN-SA-TION-AL! Thank you, Bruno, we'll miss you!"
KSI has already proved a hit with viewers after stepping in to cover for Bruno as a guest judge for season 18 of the talent show.
Indeed, several people called for him to be made a permanent judge following his debut.
It was his live show golden buzzer act, Harry Moulding, who was eventually crowned the winner, bagging the £250,000 cash prize and a spot on the bill of the Royal Variety Performance.
Clearly excited to be joining the show, KSI, 32, posted a reel to Instagram and issued a statement. "I'm so grateful and happy to be a part of the Britain's Got Talent team for another season.
"I had such a good time last year and I can't wait to see some more top talent. I'm full of energy, ready to go and can't wait to make this the most entertaining BGT season ever! Let's do this."
KSI will join returning judges Simon Cowell, 65, Amanda Holden, 54, and Alesha Dixon, 46, when the next series begins filming later this year before airing on ITV1 and ITVX in 2026.
This year, the show is hosting two open audition days in London on 6 and 7 September and they are encouraging any performer, of any age, with any talent to show up.
