Calls have been made to boycott a pub after punters were denied entry for wearing St George's Cross flags. The men were turned away from the boozer in Birmingham earlier this week following an altercation with security staff.

Footage of the men trying to enter the Manor Farm pub was shared on YouTube. It showed a security member telling the men they cannot drink in the pub due to a "simple rule by management" before the person recording is told he must take off the flag if he wants to be served. The man then questioned the staff, asking if that would happen if he wore an England football shirt or a Palestinian flag.

The men, who were told that they would be served if their wore "normal clothes", were eventually forced to leave the pub after a member of staff threatened to call the police.

One of the men then verbally abused the female staff member, saying: "It's your own country. You don't even like your own flag. You're vile. You're disgusting, love. You should be ashamed of yourself. Bye, you little leftie soft t**t."

As reported by National World, a number of negative reviews have since been left on the pub's website. Some social media users have even called to boycott the boozer.

One person gave the pub a one-star rating and wrote: "They ban people from entering with England flags! Disgraceful."

An X user said: "You've completely screwed up, The Manor Farm Pub has refused anyone with the flag. Yet you will send our army to fight for the same flag. Buck up or Britain will boycott you into oblivion."

A second added: "The Manor Farm Pub is a disgrace. The St. George's flag and Union Jack are flags of our country - why do you not allow them in your pubs? I will be boycotting until you apologize and state our national flags are welcome in your pubs."

Greene King, the owners of the pub, said its managers have the right to refuse entry to their sites. The chain added that they have no political views on the ongoing St George's Cross and Union flag debate.

Greene King said: "Our pubs are places for people to come together and socialise without the concern of being caught up in a protest.

"As such, we do not allow materials associated with political protests within our pubs and ask customers to remove them and put them away before entering.

"The safety and security of our teams and customers is our utmost priority."
