Elizabeth Hurley has unveiled the reason she joined the brand new Channel 4 gameshow, The Inheritance. The reality series is a 12-episode co-production by Studio Lambert and sees 13 strangers summoned to a grand stately home. Each individual is there to compete for part of the fortune left in the will of The Deceased, a fabulously glamorous benefactor played by Liz Hurley. Speaking exclusively during the launch of the series to Express Online and other media outlets, the 60-year-old model revealed why she decided to sign up for the show, and it's all thanks due to another devious-styled show.
She said: "They put Rob [Rinder] into the deck and I was like, actually that sounds really cool. Then they put a home into the deck, and I was like, 'Oh, it's getting better,' and then they endorsed it, and I was like, 'Oh my God.' And then I watched an episode of Traitors. I couldn't have loved it more."
In the show, Robert Rinder, the Deceased's Executor and trusted legal counsel, oversees the stipulations of Elizabeth's will. The players must work together to complete The Deceased's final requests through a series of tasks and challenges.
However, there is one big twist: only one player can collect the money released from each task. In order to claim it, they must convince the other contestants that they deserve to take all the cash they earned.
Liz also added an interview with Channel 4: "I thought Rob Rinder and I would be a good combination, and I knew it would be great to shoot in such an exquisite location."

Speaking about his role during the series launch, Rob Rinder said: "I've seen the kind of full buffet of of legal life, consequently,, one of the things you need to have is an intuitive and quite informed sense of how people are going to behave, and I really thought I did and I have to say this experience watching it evolve, watching exactly as you describe, how people, when confronted by money, when confronted by a really challenging dilemma, how they might react. I was wrong on more than one occasion, and that really, really did surprise me."
He also teased: "My standout moment was the last episode, and I will tell you, what happens at the end of this programme is surprising and challenging, and it really did alter my perception of what I believe and how I believe people would behave."
The Inheritance launches on Channel 4, watch or stream from Sunday, 31st August at 9pm.
