If you cast your mind back to 2019, the BBC dropped an underrated gem called The Capture. The series stars British actor and rumoured Bond contender Callum Turner, who has also appeared in the Harry Potter spin-off franchise and the Apple TV+ film Masters of the Air. In case you missed it the first time around, fans can now stream The Capture on Netflix, and it boasts a wealth of familiar faces and jam-packed action. The series is similar to the high-stakes thriller 'Bodyguard', and focuses on former soldier Lance Corporal Shaun Emery (Turner), who was exonerated after a war crime conviction.
Without giving too many spoilers away, Shaun becomes tangled in a web of accusations, which quickly turns into a tense roller-coaster. The Capture also has a near-perfect score of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, so it's bound to be a mind-blowing drama.

On IMDb, plenty of glowing reviews have been written about the series. One person said: "Just writing a very quick review to say that this series is simply brilliant. I was hooked right from the pre-credits scene. The acting all around was fantastic. It's not often that I find a series where I find myself asking "what the hell is going on" several times - and not in a bad way."
A second also chimed in: "How STRONG and solid storyline, sequence of scenes and events form the basis of edge-of-seat thriller. Oh my, how simple camera footage can be the root of a gripping thriller! No fancy gimmicks, dialogues, shoot-out scenes, computer coding thingies, CGI scenes, and whatnot."
A third also commented: "The show is excellent. It is a fresh take on investigative-type shows. Every episode leaves you wanting to see the next. The new information handed out in each episode is enough to satisfy your curiosity, and create new questions without being too many. It's a good give and take. I have enjoyed every episode. I can only hope it gets a season 2." [sic]
A fourth said: "If there were more shows like this, I wouldn't leave the living room! Great acting, amazing storyline, twists here, there, and everywhere. I'm gutted it's finished, but binged it. You know it's a good one when you can't wait to get home from work to watch it. Makes you wonder who's watching you..."
The official synopsis on IMDb reads: "When a British soldier is charged with a crime, the tenacious young detective handling his case begins to uncover a conspiracy."
The Capture can be streamed on Netflix now.
