Liverpool star Harvey Elliott has once again hinted at a potential departure from the club. The 22-year-old midfielder, who is reportedly on West Ham's radar, had a mixed season at Anfield, helping Arne Slot's team clinch the Premier League title despite only starting six matches in all competitions.
His performances at the under-21 European Championship, where he was named Player of the Tournament and helped England retain their title, have reignited interest in him. After returning from Liverpool's pre-season tour in Asia, the former Fulham prodigy is considering his options.
Speaking to The Anfield Wrap in Hong Kong, Elliott said: "Look, if I had it my way, I'd be here for the rest of my career, it's as simple as that, I love everything about the club.
"But at the same time I kind of need to be selfish with myself and see what's best for me. I have big ambitions. I want to go to the World Cup. I want to keep being successful as a player.
"I think it's still something I need to review. I need to have a talk with everyone, really and review the situation because we've had many new players come in, so whether it blocks the path for me I'm not sure, it's something I need to decide and have a look at.

"My main focus is here now. At the moment I'm here for the season, as far as I'm aware, unless if anything changes, we have a busy pre-season, it's non-stop, I need to make sure I'm focused on that and just be ready for everything."
This potential move could be timely for Liverpool, who have splashed out a staggering £300 million this summer and are looking to offset some of that expenditure through player sales. The Reds are also reportedly preparing a colossal British-record £125 million offer to tempt Alexander Isak away from Newcastle.
Liverpool's transfer activity has been bustling with seven new signings, contrasting Slot's more reserved approach. Hugo Ekitike is the latest to join the ranks alongside Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Armin Pecsi and Freddie Woodman.
The Reds kicked off their pre-season with a 3-1 win over Preston North End and will next face AC Milan on Saturday, followed by a match against Yokohama F. Marinos.
