A chilling simulation has revealed the potential aftermath if a chemical bomb were to be hurled at Donald Trump's presidential limousine.
As the US president, Trump is understandably one of the most heavily protected individuals globally, with threats against him being a constant concern. This was highlighted last year when the 79 year old survived an assassination attempt during his 2024 election campaign.
Since embarking on his second term, Trump has been subjected to an unparalleled mix of targeted cyber and physical threats. With this incident in mind, along with lessons drawn from President John F. Kennedy's 1963 assassination, numerous measures are taken to safeguard Trump.
One of the key elements providing protection to Trump is The Beast, the heavily armoured vehicle in which he is chauffeured, reports theMirror US.
When not travelling on Air Force One or taking helicopter rides in Marine One, Trump is transported in the presidential limo. Tipping the scales at an astonishing 20,000 pounds, the vehicle made its debut during Trump's first administration in 2018 and reportedly cost around $1.5million to construct.
While specifics about The Beast's security features remain top secret, NBC News reports that the limousine boasts advanced technology including a night-vision system, tear gas firing capabilities, and even door handles that can be electrified to deter intruders.
The bulletproof vehicle's windows are reportedly three inches thick with its armour around eight inches thick. Its secure communications system is able to dispatch the launch codes for nuclear weapons and it features a fridge stocked with the president's blood type, Business Insider reports.
The limousine is also believed to carry its own oxygen supply that can be piped into the sealed cabin in the event of a chemical or biological attack. This feature would prove useful in the case of someone launching a chemical bomb at the vehicle, as was simulated in a recent YouTube video.
According to the simulation, the moment the bomb makes contact with the car "a siren would sound and the Secret Service would be notified".
The limousine would then reportedly go into lockdown, sealing all vents inside to stop the air from coming in. The simulation alleges that this would trigger the car's oxygen reserve to help the president breathe.
The person driving the vehicle would then speed away from the scene to get away from any potential danger. Viewers were left impressed by The Beast.
"This gave me chills... in the best way," one wrote. Others compared the limousine to a military tank.
"Thats not a car, thats a whole a-- tank in disguise," one wrote. "Strongest tank is there," a second said.
A third suggested: "Instead of tanks in ww3 we should have hellcats like this".
