Will Kirk, famed for his role as an antique furniture restorer on the BBC's popular programme, The Repair Shop, has revealed a shift in his "priorities" following a significant family relocation. In a recent interview, the London-born craftsman divulged details about his family life and how he has "finally" secured a "bricks and mortar house".
Will, who shares two children - a three-year-old daughter and a one-year-old son - with his wife, Polly Snowdon, disclosed that his home now serves as a "sanctuary" where he can escape from his hectic professional life.
His young family includes a daughter, born in July 2022, and a son born in October 2024 (both names have been kept private). Will has confessed to a change in "priorities" as parental duties have taken over.
Speaking to House Beautiful magazine, Will said: "I spend so much of the year working away and filming, so home is my sanctuary. We've been living in our new house for about a year and a half."
He added: "We were in a small flat in London for about seven years and, finally, we've got our own bricks and mortar house in Surrey. I literally love my life now.
"I spent 39 years in London and I thought that's where everything was, but having kids changes your priorities. Now we've got more space and fresher air."
The Repair Shop's Will revealed that his home was becoming increasingly "important" to him, as it provides a sanctuary where he can unwind from work and spend quality time with his family.
Speaking on Alan Titchmarsh's show, Love Your Weekend, earlier this year, Will opened up about the balance he's found between work and family life.
Prior to his role on The Repair Shop, Will would work "seven days a week, all hours", but he confessed that being able to enjoy this more balanced life with his family is "really important".
He confessed: "Back in my workshop, before The Repair Shop days, I'd be working seven days a week, all hours. Whereas now, I get to sort of finish at a reasonable time and get back to spend time with the family, which is really important."
According to Hello!, it was during this conversation that Will hinted at the possibility of expanding his family further. He suggested that while he currently feels he's "got it right", the arrival of another child could change everything.
He teased: "At the moment, I have got it right. Until the next child comes along!".
You can next catch The Repair Shop on BBC One tonight (Wednesday, October 29), from 8pm to 9pm.
