You’ve heard of passionate fans but this guy might’ve just raised the bar to absolutely unhinged. A Colorado man is now suing the NFL for a jaw-dropping $100 million, claiming the league emotionally traumatized him after Shedeur Sanders dropped all the way to the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Yup, this is real. He says the whole thing was rigged, racially biased, and flat-out “disgraceful.” And now he wants the league to pay, literally.
A Colorado man says Shedeur Sanders’ draft slide wrecked him emotionally and now the NFL owes him $100 million
This fan, going by “John Doe” in the lawsuit, isn’t just mad, he's traumatized. According to court documents, he’s demanding $100 million in damages from the NFL for what he calls “severe emotional distress and trauma” after Shedeur Sanders slipped all the way to pick No. 144.
The draft day shock , he says, shattered his mental health. And he believes the NFL intentionally let it happen. His suit? Loud, dramatic, and loaded with accusations.
According to the filing, Doe believes Shedeur’s fall wasn’t just bad luck, it was planned. He accuses the NFL of spreading “false narratives” about Sanders’ attitude, arrogance, and interviews. The lawsuit says this unfair treatment targeted a young Black quarterback and violated both antitrust laws and civil rights.
Basically, he’s claiming the NFL manipulated the process and that Shedeur’s slide proves the whole system is broken.
The Sheduer Sanders camp hasn’t reacted yet but the internet is having a field day
So far, neither Shedeur nor his famous dad, Deion Sanders, has responded to the lawsuit. But fans online? Oh, they’re spiraling. Some are laughing it off as peak delusion, others are jokingly offering to join the lawsuit because “they cried too.”
To be fair, Shedeur was once viewed as a possible Day 1 guy. But reports before the draft painted him as “difficult,” saying he tanked interviews and made it clear he didn’t want to play for certain teams. Some NFL execs claimed he had “diva energy” others weren’t convinced by the Colorado product’s tape.
Still, when Cleveland picked him in the fifth round, many were stunned. Their QB room already includes Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and rookie Dillon Gabriel. So yeah… it’s crowded.

He is seeking $100M for the harm the NFL caused to his well-being, plus an apology and a more fair draft process.

Might be the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen

If that's the case, I should sue the NFL because Tom Brady was drafted in the 6th round.

I am going to sue the NFL and ESPN for having to listen to all the pundits crying that Sanders was not drafted yet and complaining about the qbs that were drafted before him.
