KOCHI: Brother of the Yemeni man for whose murder Kerala nurse Nimisha Priya has been sentenced to death has made a fresh plea for her execution.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, victim Talal Abdo Mahdi's sibling Abdul Fattah said he had met Yemen's deputy attorney-general (AG) for the third time to demand immediate implementation of the trial court's sentence to Nimisha. Fattah also shared a purported letter signed by Talal's heirs addressed to the deputy AG. The letter describes the murder as "unprecedented in the history of Yemen" and seeks urgent implementation of the sentence.
Nimisha's execution was earlier scheduled for July 16 but was deferred following intervention of political and religious figures.
