US President Donald Trump spoiled the ties with India due to his ego, a former US envoy to Japan said , and he claimed that Pakistan is paying money to his son.
During an interview with MeidasTouch, Rahm Emanuel , a Democrat, said that China is taking advantage of the strained ties between India and America.
"India, a major, major counterweight against China, both on the manufacturing technology side, but also on kind of the military side, and keeping not just the Pacific, but the Indo part of the Indian Ocean, part for China. The president, United States has literally thrown away 40 years of meticulous strategic planning and preparation and enhancing and warming the relationship through Democratic Republican administrations. " Emanuel said.
The former envoy claimed that Trump disturbed the ties with India because Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not nominated him for Nobel peace Prize for the Operation Sindoor, which the US president repeatedly take the credit and India rejected it.
"Even his first ministry, he threw it all away because PM Modi would not say that the president deserves a Nobel Peace prayer for the ceasefire that he worked out, Modi believes, with the Pakistanis on their own and the president out of ego and then out of money from Pakistan that was paying both his son and Wickoff done, this is a major strategic blunder that China has used to their advantage. And both that's on the strategic level and on the economic level," he added.
The remark seemed to allude to Zach Witkoff, co-founder of a company that partnered with the Pakistan Crypto Council in April 2025 to advance digital financial transactions. Reports indicate that Donald Trump’s sons, Donald Jr. and Eric, as well as his son-in-law Jared Kushner, reportedly have ownership stakes in the firm.
