The UAE Team set to compete in the 2025 Pan Arab Junior & Ladies Championship—scheduled to take place from Wednesday 7th to Saturday 10th May 2025—has officially been announced by the Egyptian Golf Federation. The event will be co-hosted by Madinaty Golf Club and Katameya Dunes Golf Club in Cairo.
Twelve Arab nations and regional Golf Federations have confirmed participation, fielding both teams and individual players. The competing countries include:
Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and host nation Egypt.
Sanctioned by the Arab Golf Federation (AGF) and organized locally by the Egyptian Golf Federation, the Pan Arab Championships will feature several Divisions: Ladies, Boys Under-18, Boys Under-16, and Girls Under-16. These categories will be contested over 54 holes and are recognized as World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) qualifying events, supported by The R&A, with ranking points up for grabs.
Meanwhile, the Boys and Girls Under-13 Divisions will be played over 36 holes on Thursday and Friday.
A spokesperson for the Egyptian Golf Federation commented, ‘We are grateful for the support of the Emirates Golf Federation for this significant tournament on the regional calendar. We will have over 105 players competing from all the participating Arab countries in the various Divisions. The UAE always brings a strong team and we look forward to welcoming them to Cairo.’
Final practice rounds at Katameya Dunes and Madinaty Golf Club will be held on Wednesday 7th May 2025, with the Opening Ceremony set for 5 pm on the Clubhouse Terrace at Madinaty Golf Club in Cairo.
At last year’s Championship in Tunisia, the UAE claimed Gold in the Girls Under-16 Division, while the Ladies’ Team secured Silver behind champions Team Morocco.
Sara Abubaker, part of the Gold-winning Under-16 squad in 2024, has now advanced to the UAE Ladies Team.
Intissar Rich is the only returning member from last year’s Silver Medal-winning Ladies’ Team and will once again compete in next month’s Championship.
The UAE Boys Under-18 Team earned Silver last year, and the Under-16 Boys team finished sixth.
